Synopsis

A heart in the rain

A little about the journey so far

'Forgotton Melody'

At a bustling railway station, where every arrival carries hope and every departure leaves an echo behind, Uyanga finds comfort in the melodies of an old guitar left to her by her father. Through its music, she expresses the feelings she cannot speak and preserves the dreams she refuses to let go.

When she meets Tuguldur, a train conductor who has long abandoned his own artistic ambitions, an unexpected connection begins to unfold. Drawn together by music, memory, and a shared longing for something lost, they discover a bond that transcends words. But their growing closeness attracts the attention of Boldoo, a police officer whose devotion to Uyanga gradually gives way to jealousy and possession.

As love, sacrifice, fear, and longing collide, the lives of those around them become inextricably intertwined. Families fracture, dreams are abandoned, and hearts struggle to find their way back to harmony. Against a world of constant movement and fleeting encounters, each must confront a question that lies at the heart of the human experience: can we truly listen to one another before it is too late?

Set against the evocative backdrop of a railway station, 'A Heart in the Rain' is a powerful new musical about love and loss, hope and regret, and the courage to reclaim one’s authentic voice. Through a stirring contemporary score and deeply moving storytelling, it explores the fragile threads that connect us and reminds us that while a broken string may be repaired, only compassion can restore a broken harmony.

A moving journey of love, waiting, loss, and redemption, 'A Heart in the Rain' invites us to listen more closely to the melodies within ourselves and within each other.
